Well, if we really are going to do a maze game, we should define the game before we start drawing up levels. What is the goal of the game? What can the player do? What sort of obstacles are there?

The goal of the game is to get the jawbreaker in each maze as for obstacles well the kankers, evil tim, chickens, and whatever else you can think of the player just moves around the map each time they get hit they lose a life, to gain extra lives you need to collect 50 quarters that are scattered throughout the mazes there are nine playable characters the eds and the kids. Ever 2 mazes you switch characters as for how many mazes there are well lets vote on that.

Either way is fine. Recursive is going to be the one that's programming the game since he's the most experienced at gamemaker if the mazes are drawn by hand can you send us the drawings?

Just draw whatever you think would be a fun level, and leave notes on any mechanics (enemies, traps, etc.) you add in.

I've just started work on the game. I'm trying to make the controls feel as smooth and intuitive as I can, which takes more effort than the simple movements the game in the video uses.

Additionally, I think the game would work best if movement was grid-based, so it'll be easier to design maps with that in mind.

How would grid base work since there's supposed to be obstacles like the kankers?

Of course none of these sprites will be official and it kind of caused the maze design to be a little sloppy, but I did this maze as an Ed level. Embarassed  
Ed = Player
May = Kanker
Mario ? Ball = Goal
Mario Green Ball = Jawbreaker
Mario Brick = Wall

Ack, sorry, everyone. My computer died and the one I'm using as a backup isn't powerful enough to run Game Maker (it's that crappy). I'll begin work on the maze game again once my new one arrives.

Err, I'm going to be honest with you. I completely forgot about the game, and I don't have Game Maker installed on my new computer. I'm sorry, but I don't think I'll be able to help you with this anymore. My heart's just not in it.
