Gravity Falls

Post by SkullDevil on Wed Feb 25, 2015 4:29 am

So, I was rummaging around this section when I noticed one crucial thing missing: no Gravity Falls thread.

That is the most horrible sin a human being can commit if it doesn't involve talking about the show.

Case in point, I love the hell out of this show. The characters, the story, the mystery, the creep factor and of course the comedy gold. Discuss away the awesomeness that is Gravity Falls.

I recently got back into this show and have been catching up on Season 2.

Soos and the Real Girl was hilarious and my favorite episode of the season so far. Stopped on the episode where Stan was telling all those hilarious stories. This season's shaping up to be as good as the first.

Dude, you're gonna love the rest of the episodes, especially the latest one. They didn't hold back on that one.

I'll have to finish catching up later tonight. I just wish they didn't go on an apparent hiatus, I would've loved to jump into this and know they were continuously releasing new episodes but as far as I can tell it stops on like episode eleven of the season even though I've read Season Two is supposed to have twenty to twenty two episodes total.

I think that's made to create hype and in the end generate more views. I know the upcoming episode is coming on March 9th, and the hiatus between is understandable given how the last episode ended.

I can see it from that point of view, but I've always hated when cartoons/shows go on random mid season hiatuses to build hype or extend the season or whatever.

I'm part of the "I want it now" generation and I want it now, dammit.

And how does a schoolgirl hunger for something?

In a very... schoolgirly way?

Hopefully Mabel in the Morning can explain this phenomenon to me. Or maybe Giffany since she happens to be one. Or however you spell that crazy chick's name.

Oh shit, something good probably happened (like usual)... I assume it's related to the computer and maybe even Stan?

I haven't seen it, will watch it online tonight... I'm so hyped :O

As I said on another website, the last episode of Gravity Falls that just aired was probably the best episode of a cartoon that aired this year so far when compared to every other cartoon airing right now.

It was pretty epic.

I guess we could discuss it until the next one comes out. SPOILERS BEHOLD.

Spoiler:
When Stan's brother came out of the portal, I was all like "Oh shit it's gonna be who I think it's gonna be, isn't it?" because of his head shape. Then Grunkle Stan confirmed it and my jaw dropped. Totally didn't expect him to also be the author, though.

Spoiler:
To be honest I haven't been keeping up with what the fans have been saying and haven't been investigating the mystery so the fact that it was his brother surprised the hell outta me. It all makes sense though in retrospect and I'm glad that Mabel believed in Grunkle Stan enough to let the portal open. I wonder how his brother got trapped in the portal in the first place? And I guess Stan might've been pretending to be his brother the whole time.

Spoiler:
I heard about the theories that Stan had a twin around the start of the second season. Never paid too much attention to them, but I thought them to be plausible.

Those people who came up with that must be celebrating like hell right now.

I do wonder what will happen next, though. Stan is still wanted by the government so its possible that the Pines family might go on the run for a while.

Holy crap, what an episode! Probably one of the best cartoons I've ever seen with that epic plot twist... now just gotta hope Disney decide to air episodes regularly, because it kills their momentum hardcore (Alex Hirsch said he thinks it's back in the summer, at least).

I don't keep up with the GF fandom's theories but I'm gonna look out for more - genuinely confused and excited, can't wait to see what Hirsch's season 2 endgame will be.

Spoiler:
I think this whole dilemma will also start a rift between Dipper and Mabel's relationship, since he most likely feels betrayed by her choosing Grunkle Stan's word over his.

Agreed - I can see this playing into the whole Government looking for Stan thing. Also, Soos had a pretty big moment when he decided to save the kids.
