Which is why I think McGucket could be the most likely candidate. I hope they don't kill off Stan's brother after just introducing him, unless it's at the end of the season.

Kill Robbie.

Even though he became a non-jerk for the most part, I don't think anyone would lose sleep over it.

Problem is, no one would feel sad for Robbie. With the exception of Internet fangirls.

If you're gonna have a character die and make the viewers feel sad for them, it needs to be a character that's likable but doesn't overshadow the main cast. This was pretty much my problem with The Simpsons killing off Krusty's dad and hyping it up like mad and nobody cared in the end.

I would feel sad for Robbie for reasons I'm not at liberty to share with the viewing audience.

Kill off Waddles. Problem solved.

There you go. Then in another dimension he can be reincarnated as Neil deGrass Tyson.

BUMP FOR NEW EPISODE INFO

According to Alex Hirsch at this year's WonderCon, the next episode will delve deep into Stan's past:

I figured the obvious candidate for who would die would be the mayor of Gravity Falls. Which he may or may not have. And a secret code in the Guide to Mystery book implies that there's going to be mayoral change-ups in the near future.

Also, I'm throwing in my guess for (at least one of) the "true" villain(s) to be that mysterious guy from Irrational Treasure. I almost never see the fandom bring him up, but he looks pretty important.

You mean the dispatcher? If so, it's not a bad theory, but I figure he would be working for the actual "true" villain. That is, provided the "true" villain is human.

Yeah, he probably isn't the villain, but I'm positive we haven't seen the last of him.
I'm also pretty sure we'll see the shape shifter again.

I'd love it if they brought back a ton of characters everyone's forgotten about by now. Like the Multibear. Penn Zero has me clamoring for more Alfred Molina.

Alfred Molina is always great. *insert Spider-Man 2 reference here*

Also I agree that we should see the shapeshifter again. Love his design.

I really like when he takes wild speculation and turns it into a comic.

I remember reading that one.

Bill in the Shapeshifter's body would be anarchy.

I'm interested in seeing all of the consequences the latest episode has on the town. I'm assuming that the town prison has suffered enough damage that a breakout would be inevitable.

Giddeon has definitely broken out, for sure.

I'm actually more interested on what path Dipper will take due to Mabel not trusting him. According to Alex Hirsch, he'll be angry at her and Grunkle Stan, but more at himself. He also said that he's going to start feeling isolated from his family after NWHS.

Re: Gravity Falls

I kind of felt that when Alex said that, he was mostly speculating how Dipper might feel.
See, he uses "I think" a lot:
Alex wrote:Dipper isn’t nearly as trusting, so I think that when someone finally earns his trust, it is much more heartbreaking to have it violated. Remember: The kids knew Stan as a liar before they knew him as someone who truly cared about them, so I think for a character like Dipper, he’s more mad at himself that he let himself trust an obvious con man like Stan in the first place. It’s a huge blow to his ego, a huge betrayal, and I think it will leave him feeling isolated from his family in a way he hasn’t been before. Where these feelings take Dipper will be explored in the upcoming episodes.

So I imagine it would be closer to subtext. But I'm certainly excited to see how they explore it.

What are you gonna bet on for the airdate? June, July or August?
The more I think about it, the more shows I remember are returning this summer. There's Gravity Falls, Rick and Morty, and Wander over Yonder. There's probably others too.

There's gonna be angst though, with how much crap that happened in the last episode.

Hopefully late June or early July. Earlier than the former would be so nice, and later than than the latter would just be even more agonizing.

I'd like to see them explore more variations on character pairings in the upcoming episodes. Not that they aren't doing that, but there are just so many characters that would be great interacting.
For one, I'd really like to see Bill interacting with Wendy and Soos. You know, more. And we'll probably see previous interactions with either the author or Stan.
I'm especially curious to see what happens next time he and Gideon are on screen together. That Gideon Love Letter promo implied that Gideon thinks Bill is still on his side, but you would think Bill would hold a grudge against Gideon for breaking off the deal.

Well given that Hirsch pretty much confirmed that the next episode will explore Stan's past and, given how he described it ("Prepare to get your headcanons annihilated."), I'd say that's a fair assessment.

BUMP FOR POSSIBLE HIATUS END AND MYSTERY PIC

This is supposedly one of Alex Hirsch's new tweets:

If this isn't fake and actually refers to the hiatus itself (we all know Alex can cleverly troll us), we might be getting the new episode sometime between May or early June. If so, I will bezzazle my face with no shame.

Also this pic:

A lot of people have been making fake tweets lately, so I'd be a little cautious. That aside, Alex usually seems to know when a hiatus will end about a month in advance. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney waits until after Comic Con to air the next one, since they like to build small pockets of momentum.
A little information about the next half of the season was teased at a con a couple days back, though.

Alex did say something about more fantastical creatures appearing, as well as from another planet.

Plus that photo tweet is totally legit.

Yeah, the past/future tweet is real. Probably not the "the end is near" one though.
And now there's audio available for the Mexico panel, so that's cool.

Heard it. Makes me more hyped for the actual episode.

I'm betting we'll get some news about it late May/early June.
