Bro, I love to be that guy, but I read that page and you are clearly in over your head if you think you're going to get any of those people to voice act especially with the quality of the art involved.

Hey. Sorry but I guess you didn't read the "WAIT!!!!! I don't want to watch a cartoon that's as ugly as these drawings!" but for your clarification: the animation won't just look like those designs. With the money funded, it will be animated by different artists. Both episodes and music videos. My process is done in half traditional and half digital; in which the layouts and storyboard is done by hand but is animated by computer. And many animators I might choose will get full creative control on design. I can't do this myself. That's not possible. It's kind of how Cleo from Heathcliff looks different from her original American model sheet because the japanese studio wanted to make her sexier.

Getting actors isn't hard if you have the money and time. I already booked four actors in 3 different shorts: Vic Mignogna, Nick Afanasiev, Antoine Dodson and Todd Haberkorn. I'm pretty sure they'd be interested, and I especially would inquire Christopher Sabat with this series since my cousin is friends with him.

Skillmore Academy Explorers: Movie

Post by Guest on Sun Jun 14, 2015 4:40 pm

Hey guys. Since getting a web series is not going to get me anywhere and it might be expensive to do more than a few episodes, I've decided to make a Skillmore Academy film instead.

http://foofnscoops.wix.com/skillmore-academy#!movie/c1480
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spunko/skillmore-academy-web-series

I'm not BEGGING FOR MONEY OR ASKING FOR DONATIONS. I'm just sharing my creativity. If you do want to participate, PM me.

The short plot: Franko Zapper (Justin Cook) is traveling through 5 different continents to stop time bombs from being placed by the devil (Nostalgia Critic's Doug Walker).

If you guys have any questions, there's an FAQ section in that website. I know the first question your probably going to say is : "Your out of your freakin mind if you think you can get big talents like those with the art quality used in the project." My answer: "Getting actors isn't hard if you have the money, time and if there interested. Most actors don't care about the design but about the writing, story and character personalities". How else did you think Queer Duck got big names such as Billy West and Maurice LaMarche while looking like a crap video? And FYI, it's not gonna look like that. I'm gonna hire different animators to give it a unique style.

I'm also bringing educational values in the film as well. So, enjoy what might happen, share with your friends and hope for the best.

Have you actually spoken to Doug about it yet? It's not a good idea to promise such a thing if he hasn't even heard from you.

I'm working on contacting him. And most of the actors I'm acquiring are agreeing if it's a paid production. I can't do anything unless money is funded. Although i used a different title than the one provided.

I'm not so sure Doug would work with an unproven director without a demo reel or any sort of credibility. Understand, it took about two years for me to finally get just an INTERVIEW with the Walker Brothers.

Maybe. I do have a private demo reel (mostly from cd roms and animatics). If Doug passes, I'll probably consider Jontron or James Rolfe.

Yeahhhh James Rolfe is neigh-unreachable, and JonTron doesn't listen to outside offers since he's got a lot on his plate.

Casting a web critic also just seems like a cheap way to bring in their fanbases. You're better off casting someone without that following and getting by on your own merits.

Mobia mobias mobias.... I booked Antoine Dodson, Todd Haberkorn, Vic Mignogna and Nick Afanasiev (and even Chris Sabat; who is friends with my cousin) on several shorts. I think I can handle James, john and even Doug. Getting actors isn't hard if the money, time and interest is right. I had to wait a month for Vic to record the lines for my show which were very funny.

James is reachable; I emailed him an interview long ago, it just takes time since he's making videos.

I don't really appreciate you talking down to me as if you're a titan of web animation.

I was just joking around. I apologize if what I am saying is either offending you or irritating you. Although I did hire said actors, no hard feelings. Look, when time comes, we'll see. But right now, I'm chilling out.

so just a heads up, putting someone's name in your kickstarter that isn't actually involved? Yeah that's a criminal offense called misrepresentation.

Threads will be locked until you can prove that someone in your kickstarter is actually involved with it.
