Fire Emblem General - Bloodline or Loyalty?

Post by Saffaur on Thu Jun 11, 2015 4:27 pm

Yes, Fire Emblem. A new game is coming out so I thought it'd be best to make a topic.

http://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-if/characters/

also to rant on how they've recycled character designs

well i mean i liked inigo and owain so im not exactly all that irked but that's just my opinion

Well at least those two are a little bit different, most notably Owain's copy having a new class. Severa's lookalike is virtually identical from what I can tell.

Also, don't let your ire for these few characters cloud your view of all the awesome new characters added because Harold

no one's deft as harold
no one's blessed as harold
no one's chin's as incredibly cleft as harold

Posting the names of said new classes since none of us can really read/speak Japanese. All of this was quoted from a post on Serene Forest by Sky Solider there:

Sky Soldier wrote:New Nohr classes:

Dark Prince/Princess - Royalty donning the equipment of the Nohrian royal family. Inside their body conceals the power of a dragon.

Garu – A werewolf cursed to eat humans. Has superior strength and speed.

Adventurer (thief promotion)– An adventurer that seeks out treasure in ancient ruins. Using bows and staves, they show off a variety of talents.

Revenant Knight – A warrior attended by a magical dragon. Tramples and overruns the enemy with axes and magic. (As we suspected)

Mana Garu – A high-ranking werewolf with a tenacious physical presence. Holds an even greater ability than Garus. (OUR ANIMALS CAN PROMOTE!)

Dark Blood – A high-ranking noble who holds the spirit of Nohr. Uses magic in addition to swords and dragonstones.

Also, Sorcerer's animations look sick.

New Hoshido Classes

Kitsune - A long-lived fox that deceives humans. Has superior speed and resistance

Shura ("carnage")- A warrior that has surpassed Oni fighters to become like a demi-god. Pulverizes every enemy it comes across with clubs and magic.

Blacksmith – An artisan that forges weapons. Has superior skill and uses kanatas and clubs. (Hero equivalent)

"Spear saint" – A person that has reached the climax of the way of the naginata. Possesses high composure and ability

Basara ("go crazy") – A person who enjoys an unconventionally wild and free-spirited existence. Sows confusion and disturbance among the enemy with naginatas and magic.

Exorcist – A person that has reached the climax of many different magical disciplines. They are extremely well-versed in both magic and staves.

Yamabushi (ascetic monk) – A person who has spiritually awakened to the final stage of asceticism. They heal their allies with staves and kill their enemies with naginatas.

War Miko – Women who fight for the sake of God and the people. They heal their allies with staves and kill their enemies with bows.

Holy Pegasus warrior (I like Seraph Knight)- High-ranking Pegasus Warriors. Along with naginatas, they support and protect their allies with staves.

Golden Kite warrior – Warriors who ride the legendary bird, the Golden Kite. Using naginatas and bows, they have mastered the way of the sky battle.

"Bow saint" - A person that has reached the climax of the way of the bow. They excel in critical hits and accuracy.

Jonin (ninja master) – A leader that controls the ninja. They take out their targets with hidden weapons and swords.

Puppeteer – Craftsmen that skillfully manipulate their kakurashi dolls to wield hidden weapons and bows. (they're shot out of the puppet, that's so cool!!!)

Kamui's Hoshido promotion - White Tribe – A high-ranking noble who holds the spirit of Hoshido. Uses staves in addition to swords and dragonstones.

Ninetales - The evolution of Vulpix. A high-ranking fox with strong spiritual powers. Holds an even greater ability than kitsunes.

These are the Japanese names for the classes and will probably change in the English release (as have some characters' names already). Anyway, liking the new classes so far, so discuss.

In the new Fire Emblem you can

Involving marriage:
marry your nohr and hoshido siblings!

You can get same sex marriage in it too with Shana and Zero.

Children characters:

And the face petting choices change if you're married. For example I'll use Joker/Jacob

I, I would also like to touch y... no, I said nothing
You're always so gentle
Ah... not there...
I love you...
I'm truly happy...
I'm such a sinful man...
I still can't believe, that you are mine....
You're so cute...
Do you love me?
I have... always wanted you....
We can't... it'll have to wait for tonight
No good... I don't think I can hold back any longer

Garon:
The Garon you see in the game isn't the real one. The real one has been dead for years. An imposter fills in as Garon for the entire game. This is what the fake Garon's actual form looks like in Fates:

Someone's doing the hair colors for the children for the face petting. If you have the model viewer, you can start putting hair colors of the parent you wanted onto them.

Since the game's been out for a while I'm gonna bump to say

Awakening was better.

Fates still has the better gameplay.

Revelations sucked.

I heard that Shin Kibayashi, the manga writer Intelligent Systems hired to help improve the writing of the Fire Emblem series, has later stated that he does not wish to be credited with anything related to Fates. He said that they removed 80-90% of the original plot he created and gave us the mess we see today.

It makes me wonder what the original story for Fates was going to be like.

That was a false rumor. He did indeed only write the draft.

Besides, it was his idea that
Spoiler:
Garon was a goo being the entire time.

The only thing he didn't really write for was the Revelations route.

I agree Sapph. I feel like the marketing was genius but very misguiding, cause its not a gray situation it was more like well choose to be black with nohr but end up doing good somehow or choose to be white with hoshido Smile
So a lotta potential and pure execution.
